about us

We are deeply grateful to The American International Health Center - AIMC, our generous sponsor for the Benvenuto Club website, and wish to thank Dr.William S. Freilich, director of the center, and one of Benvenuto's long time friends for the continuous support he has given to our club. Who Are We?

The Benvenuto Club is an international association of English-speaking women with approximately 400 members. Our common bond is that we all speak English, although we come from more than 40 different countries. We are non-profit, non-denominational and apolitical. We encourage the membership of newly arrived women to Milan by providing a forum where they can make friends and participate in activities together.
Founded in 1967, the Club is also a member of FAWCO, the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas, through which it gains access to a world-wide women's network (www.fawco.org).

Our Subgroups

In the course of time two subgroups have been created inside the Benvenuto Club: A.I.M. (Americans in Milan) and O.A. (Orientals Abroad). You are of course welcome to join in their activities provided that you are first a member of the Benvenuto Club of Milan.
Americans in Milan is particularly concerned in sharing information regarding the United States to members within the Club. Take a look at the A.I.M. page on this site to find out more about their activities and upcoming events.
Orientals Abroad represent a group of different nationalities of Asia and focus on sharing information about Asian countries. The OA page on this website will tell you more.

Other Groups within the Benvenuto Club of Milan

The Benvenuto Club welcomes initiatives taken by its members. We thoroughly enjoy each other's company and use common interests as a reason to meet more regularly. In this way several groups reflecting members' interests have been created, such as: Garden Group, Book Clubs, Language Exchange Groups, International Marriage Group, Bridge Group, and Mothers & Toddlers.
